Testing
|
What is Testing?
Testing is a process of quality control of the software/system. The main goals of testing are
verification and validation of the software. Verification is checking if system is compatible
with ther specification and validation is checking if software meets the client expectation.
Also many software errors can be found and removed during testing process. Testing also consists of many stages
described in standards like IEEE 829-1998 (829 Standard for Software Test Documentation) or others (IEEE 1008, IEEE 1012, BS 7925-1, BS 7925-2.)
but also
needs a stage when some future system users are working with a system doing every-day activity on
some test data (we call that "working with beta version of the product"). This gives also opportunity to introduce some small enhancements to the system
that were not in the system spec or design, but (according to test users' feedback) can signifiable improve use of the system.
