A dual-purpose system built for Swim Ireland to run club membership and member certification for the whole country from one place. It is made up of two halves that share the same member records, so what a person is qualified to do and what they are allowed to do in a club stay in step automatically. Fully web-based.
The two halves are designed to tally. To hold a particular role in a club, a person must hold the certification that role requires — so the membership side cannot get ahead of the education side. Qualification and responsibility are checked against each other rather than tracked in two separate places and reconciled by hand.
Clubs manage their own information directly through a dedicated portal, keeping their records current at source instead of sending changes in to be re-keyed centrally.
Membership is seasonal, and the roll-over from one season to the next is seamless — the busiest and most error-prone moment in the year is handled by the system rather than by manual reprocessing.
Each side of the system carries its own suite of reports — one set covering clubs and membership, another covering education and certification.
