GAP Analysis

Overview

Where you are vs. where you need to be. A GAP analysis is the foundation of any meaningful change programme — without it, you do not know what you are changing, why you are changing it, or whether you have succeeded.

It is also the cheapest insurance policy you can buy. A few weeks of disciplined analysis up front routinely saves months of wasted delivery effort downstream.

What We Do

  • Current-state assessment — honest, evidence-based, not optimistic
  • Target-state definition aligned to business strategy, not technology fashion
  • Capability mapping across people, process, and technology
  • Prioritised gap inventory — what matters, what does not, and in what order
  • Roadmap to close the gaps, with realistic timelines and dependencies

When to Use It

A GAP analysis is the right starting point:

  • Before a system migration, where understanding the current estate is essential
  • Before a digital transformation programme — so the programme has a measurable target
  • Before a compliance push (GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001), where the standards define the target state for you
  • When "we know something is broken but we cannot agree on what"

Output

A clear document the business actually reads — not 80 pages nobody will open, but a prioritised picture of what is broken, what is good, and what to do next. Executive summary up front, detail behind it, decisions called out clearly.

Our Approach

We are direct. If the gap is bigger than the budget, we will say so. If the project is the wrong project, we will tell you that too. The point of a GAP analysis is to give you a true picture — a flattering one is worse than useless.
